Saw a coin listed that is discribed "Rev. Lamination". What is Lamination and how does in occur and what does it look like? Thanks

A lamination is where a portion of the metal of the coin peels off or seperates from the rest of the coin. Sometimes it can completely seperate and other times it remains attached. Some laminations occur prior to minting and others occur after minting. I believe it occurs from a flaw in the alloy used in making the planchet.

Remember it's not how you pick your nose that matters, it's where you put the boogers.

Heritage did a brilliant job of obscuring the vertical lamination on the left side of the reverse. You can faintly see it on their picture. In person, it is as plain as the nose on your face (and probably twice as unattractive). image
