Can Someone Let Heritage Know They're Pulling Another Scam!

LINK

I'm sorry, but they CONSISTENTLY pull this crap. There's no longer ANY excuse for it! image

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is the scam?
  • I don't get it.
  • See THESE threads also.

They are once again using past prices and pops for a TOTALLY DIFFERENT coin to hawk the coin in the title thread.
  • Go right ahead, but looks fine.

  • A "scam" involves a company knowing about it before going through with a sale/deal/etc.. I think Heritage made a mistake.

  • They CONSISTENTLY keep making the same kind of "mistake".
  • Maybe you should apply for a job there. They have ads in all the main hobby publications.

Why are you coming here asking someone to contact them - have they blocked your email or your phone number?

I agree the values they're quoting are misleading at best and outright deceptive at worst, but you're being a bit disingenuous by couching your posts about their practices as a plea for help. If you want to slam them, just slam them. And if you want something done about it, just do something about it.

  • Ok, So what is the value difference between a DDO fs-035 die 1, and a DDR fs-036 die 1 ?

I'm assuming that is what you're referring to as the "Scam" ?

I imagine their price/auction archiving system is coin number based (probably similar or exact to the PCGS coin numbering system). That date only has three PCGS numbers (for BN, RD, RB). All the coins you see listed are of the same coin number - 3056. Just a guess. Perhaps a less than perfect system, but it ain't no scam. I bet if you call them, they will politely explain it to you.

  • I don't see the problem. They identify it, they list price guides that show it to be worth between $7 and $15, and they link a previous sale of another piece of the same variety that sold for $59.80 The only thing that might be questionable are the pop reports because I have no way of knowing if they relate to the same variety or not. Since many if not most of these minor varieties are not often recognized by the services ANY pop report would be questionable. If PCGS doesn't recognize it would it be better to list the PCGS pop as 0? Frankly we KNOW that pop reports are questionable even for run of the mill coins. For varieties they are probably doubly meaningless.

I 'm sure Heritage is making a fortune by "CONSISTENTLY pulling scams" like this.
Did YOU let Heritage know, RBinTex?

Okay, so let me get this right... you'd rather they put a pop report number of zero, since ANACS won't let them use their pop report (if they have one, which I think they do) or for some unknown reason, Heritage won't use their pop report? Is it a flipping conspiracy?

I'd rather know that PCGS and NGC have graded a similar coin and bid accordingly myself since ANACS coins rarely sell for the ballpark of similar graded PCGS coins... just IMHO.

I think that Heritage has made a few mistakes in the past... like a 1940 Proof Nickel with a Reverse of 41... is there such an animal?

Do I think Heritage is trying to intentionally mislead the public, thus fraud? No.

Do I think Heritage, Teletrade or for that matter, PCGS are perfect? No.

Do I potentially have an agenda against Heritage? No.

I agree with the other posts... pick up the phone, call them, and ask them why they do it. No offense, but my gut is telling me that you wouldn't like their answer anyway.

I'm not trying to bash you... just figure out your motive. What's the real reason for this and your other threads?

IMHO, there are a few other major auction websites... leaving them out of this on purpose to protect from a lawsuit... that I have very good reason to believe that either they have absolute idiots bidding or they have someone in the middle jacking up the price. Hey, but you know... those are the ones I'll be using when I sell. image

Also, I'm not one to dog a rant (believe me... I rant alot... probably too much)... just trying to figure out what the underlying reason is for the rant.
