And you buy some 'sealed' ones on Ebay from the 50's and early 60's, do you open them to see if you hit a cameo or leave them sealed?

Inquiring mind wishes to know...

You can do what the previous owner did - open them up, cherrypick the good ones, and reseal the rest.

(just kidding)

I'd have to open them. If I didn't, I'd wonder why I bought them in the first place.

You can buy "genuine???" empty envelopes on ebay for this re-sealing. After I noticed this....I stoped buying "unopened" sets.

Have some Mint Sets back to 1959. Bought them for the purpose of cutting open to put in albums. Still contemplating about this.

Edited to add : not purchased from eBay though.

I buy them with the intention of opening.I prefer buying them still in the original box.Getting harder to find them this way though.Still haven't found anything that stands out other than the occasional cameo.

With that aside, what does everyone think of this auction? Would you trust these sets to truly be 'unopened'?
