A question about 1995 pennies?

I won in the mystery auction from BowTieCoins. I got a roll of 1995 pennies. I have never paid to much attention to pennies but I got a few with the "undercoat" ( a silver color) showing threw on a few of them. I was just wondering, probably just me but I wanted to double check. I also got a semi toned one like this My FIRST toned coin.
Thanks, Diane image

That would be a common thing. The cents are coated with a very thin copper shell these days. It often splits, especially on the reverse around the edge and around the mintmark (on coins that actually have a mintmark). Bunches of them out there like that.

  • Is it like the ones talked about in this recent thread?
  • Not nearly that bad showing through. Just a couple of lines on a few of them.
