The pictures and the coins look pretty good. Maybe a little less light?

You might try to bring the light higher to the coin and diffuse it thru a white piece of printer paper.
Take the image from a slight angle. Just play with different setups. Every coin may need just a bit of trial and error.

  • Are these getting better. What do you all think of the grade?

These may be proof coins hard to photograph because of the mirror like brightness. I'm not sure of the grades, I just got a PR65 1952 and a PR64 1950 that I can't see the difference in. And am still trying get good pictures of myself.
    Nice coins.

  • Thanks for the feedback. Do you think any of these may be CAM or DCAM.
  • None of the coins look cam or dcam. For the most part these pieces have to be in PR68 or 69 to be worth having graded - This would mean that looking at the coin you would see maybe one or two hairlines at best. Toning on these coins is not necessarily a good thing unless the toning is awesome. Good luck and welcome to the boards image

It's hard to grade proofs from photos oftentimes, but I agree with fc57 in that neither looks like a true cameo coin. Just for kicks though, I would check the reverse on that 56 to make sure you're not sitting on a more valuable type 1 reverse. I think it's helpful to go to some shows and look at a large number of cameo slabs (especially the ones in pcgs, anacs, and ngc holders) to see what really gets recognized as cam or dcam.....

Welcome aboard. BTW in profile you need to turn on the PM option. Makes it easier to talk private.

i like that technique of shooting at an exteme angle.
It really shows off the fields and devices well.

also, could you edit you coin pics to show one atop another
    instead of side by side?

just start a new line for each image
and that should work for us.
