JB Steven. I need your help please.

Right across from your table there is a coin dealer named Bob Williams. He has a coin I am very interested in and he offered a lay-away.

Ran the idea by the CFO of the Shark household and she gave the thumbs up on the idea.

Would you mind asking him to give me a call at home this morning?

My number is 979-690-2322.

Appreciate the help.

  • GOT IT!!

My certified Morgan set is now complete. Just got to figure how to get the new 93-S out of hock between now and February.

By the way, it was a VG-8 in an NGC holder. Not the nicest coin in the lot but very proud just the same.

Jason, thanks for the help. Would be interested in your opinion of it since it is still right across the aisle from you.

Shark - Now that it's complete, do you start upgrading, sell it or stash it?

If I may be so bold as to ask......would you mind telling what you paid??

reason I ask...there was a thread on here last nite where someone was wanting to know Greysheet pricing on those in G and VG.

I was guessing at least VG and then some money for a Good and JimDimmick said 3k for a Vg10.

they sure have gone crazy. I should have bought one before now.
  • Congrats on completing your Morgan set. Would have loved to go to that show, but wasn't on the menu right now. As far as what you could collect now........ I thought a fund set would be Standing Liberty Quarters, as well as Walkers - and then there's always those beautiful Canadian Coins. image

  • Thanks to everyone on the congrats. It has been many years in the making to complete this set. Never thought I would get there. Very happy but now kind of sad. Seems like the end of a dream.

For those who were interested, the VG-8 cost me $2,500. And happy to get it at any price. This was the first one I have seen in person at a coin show in a certified slab.

congrats... I think every serious Morgan collector has a story in connection with their purchase of their 1893-S purchase, regardless of grade

Edited to add: It is nice to see that some help made it happen. JB Steven gets a thumbs up too

Edited to further add: CFO's are important too.

  • It's always nice to have a CFO (boss) to keep you in check. Got lucky on the one I got.

Jason, thanks again for your help and input on the coin. Really makes me feel better getting opinions from folks I trust.

See you guys at the January show.
