Another toning question. Is this toning?

Not the best coin but it sure is pretty colorful. For some reason as I was going through me penny jar I noticed about 50 of these and they all seem to be on the newer coins 1994 and up.imageimage

  • Looks like something got on that coin that made the copper layer turn like that - toning that looks like it was layed on top of the coin and just kinda sits on the coin is generally not considered genuine, therefore not collectable.

    If you look at the example on the left, that gives you an idea of what genuine toning on copper should look like.

    Wow Frank, the toning on the left makes the Lincoln memorial look all out of shape!

    dipped zincolns can look like that.
