A young girl in our community has been batteling cancer for the past three years. Her name is Lizzete, and she is in the second grade here at one of the elementary schools. Recently, she has been on chemo, and its strong enough to cause 3rd degree burns throughout her body. Luckily the chance for her to get a bone marrow transplate has just opened up. The doctors think she has a good chance of making it through, but the family is really struggling to make enough money for the procedure. For a mission project, I decided to make a bowl and try and sell it to help her and her family through these tough times. The bowl is 8 inches in diameter, and about 3 inches high. Its made of a VERY rare wood called Wenge. I just finished it, and it turned out very nice. If anyone is interested in buying the bowl please PM me. I will take the highest offer I have by Saturday night about 8'oclock. It would make an excellent holiday gift, and you would be contributing to a great cuase.
