I did exactly what that had said but still no luck. Could being behind a firewall make that difference?

No, as long as you upload the pic to CU there should not be any firewall issue. I do notice that you have the /'s wrong, and are you trying to use your harddrive to show the pic? That won't work, you have to upload the pic using a hosting site, or the CU server.
