Neat Struck Through Error 1975 Lincoln - Photo Posted!

I was going through some mint set purchases, and almost breazed by this spotted 1975 Lincoln. Then a deformity caught my eye. Not just a deformity, a veritable crater in Lincoln's head. I have a nice strike through of some solid object, near the size of ... of... Lincoln's ear.

Thanks for the scan help Gonfunko!

Of course, KINGKOIN would call it the Assasination Coin. As if John Wilkes Booth worked the presses at the mint that day.

I was just thinking. This coin is 29 years old, and the strike through was (I presume) first noticed today.

    Notice the D for Dallas?

I thought D would stand for the day of death when the nation cried.

I wonder what the object was....

p.s. The shiny look is because the coin is still in mint cello.

It almost resembles the 'Rockwell Test Pieces' of, I believe, the early 60's. Except for the extra divot on the left. Check out an early edition of 'Modern Mint Mistakes'.
