I ended up sending a nice three center, could find nothing else ?

It seems like every time they have this, the stuff eligible ,dries up locally.


I was thinking about sending in my 16-d dime and trying to get it into a 58 Holder, but I would prefer to do it under the express or walk thru service.

3 Center... Great Idea. I have one sitting here in an NGC slab. What a wealth of choices on that denomination for options.

I went with an 1878-CC Morgan dollar. It's a coin I've had in my collection for a long time. Nothing special, but I wanted to get it slabbed for sentimental reasons.

For the folks who decide to send a three center. Remember to choose a year that is struck in Business strike format in both series whether its a nickel or silver issue?

so: 65-72 Three cent silver only , the 73 isnot eligible as it is Proof only
and

then the 65-72 Three cent nickels are okay!

I was thinking of submitting a pristine 1909 or another 09VDB.........however, after coinbuf's response, I'm thinking of going with a really super looking 38D Buffalo nickel........Rick

Similarly with the early Morgans, only 1878 will count as that's the only year that the Trade dollars and Morgan dollars were both in business strikes. From 1879-1885, the Trade dollars were proof only so they won't count.

I was at first going to send in a 1921 Morgan in a NGC holder, but I wound up sending in a 1909vdb penny instead.
There is a big overlap of Trade Dollars to Morgans by year and when I checked with PCGS, they stated that one of these
would be OK too.
