Cleaned barber quarter

Can't tell from those photo's. May still be worth XF money anyway even if it was lightly cleaned.

I dislike these tilted coin pics, it is hard to make out the detail or to discern the true color. The coin looks to be XF45-AU50, and while it doesn't look bad, my guess is that it has probably been played with (cleaned) at least a little. The worst would be hairlines, but the tilted scan can hide those.

Look at the dark spot in the number 0 in the date. Dirt in the tightest crevices will remain after light cleanings or rubbings that remove some of the patina. The coin doesn't look all that bad, and might be OK. I have seen more original looking coins, and also much more cleaned and washed out quarters for sure. Looks middle of the road, and for the right price would probably be fine. You just might want to write the seller and ask if strong hairlines are present.

I don't think its cleaned, just rough wear on the high points
with some luster in the fields. PCGS recently gave me an AU50
for a similar coin, although the coin was white with less
roughness.
