My First Gold Dollar

Sn3nut

Here is my first gold dollar. I like it, but it sure seems really small when compared to the rest of the coins in my collection! What do the rest of you think ... anyone out there collect these things seriously?

I like it

They are small, but then again they are made of gold

I bought an 1853 a couple of weeks ago, it not as nice as yours- but I really like it.

I thought the same thing when I got my first one !

How could these ever be used in circulation, they'd get lost in pocket lint

Got 4 of them now, first one was the 73' Closed 3

Looks nice and original. I am not a big fan of gold dollars (too small), but I do have a Type I and Type III and will (eventually) get a Type II (hopefully the 55-O and/or the 56-S). Then, I will be done with them (unless someone offers me a 61-D in XF...)
