Nope, becuase I didn't buy the book that tells you to buy the book before the coin before I bought the coins. Tell me if that sentence made any sense, so I can have the folks who wrote the tax code commit further acts of wordification on it.

A true yes ...sort of. I bought a red book before I bought any coins, but I had found several hundred coins over the years. They were thrown in jars, cans, and junk drawers until I finally took an interest early this year.
Only made 2 Darkside purchases before buying a used Krause set.

Of course not. Absolutely not. Not a chance. Nope. Never conceived of the idea before buying a coin. Besides, I was 8 when I first bought something, not sure it would have helped.

ER - Guess I blew it. First coin in the series, but not first coin.

I voted yes. Didn't BUY the book, but did read them. (Was reading everything about coins I could get my hands on for six years before I bought my first coin. No money, I was five. Didn't start collecting until I was eleven. )
