NEED HELP GETTING SOME FRANKIES REGISTERED

I need some help. I'm new to this board but I have read some threads. People seem very knowledgeable and helpful. When my dad died, I inherited his coins. I have 2 raw frankies (1960D and 1961D) that are beautiful. They both are FBL's and he had them in separate packets. They were both marked Proof. What is the cost to send them both to be registered? I live in PA. Where is the best place to send them and is it worth it? Thank you very much for your help>

If they have "D" mintmarks, they are not proof coins.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Thank you. Maybe he just put them in holders to take care of them. Could you tell me the cost to register them? They look like they are brand new coins. Thank you.

I assume when you say "register" you mean graded and placed in a sealed holder.

Could I ask why you want to do that? If you aren't planning on selling them, all you need to do is make sure they are stored properly. What kind of holder are the coins in?

    Welcome to the boards!

One thing that I would warn about is that if these coins, pretty as they may be, are run of the mill proofs, or even MS63 business strikes, they're basically worth a little over bullion. As such, you're talking about maybe putting a $2-3 coin in a $30 slab, which is not going to increase it's value in the least bit. What I would suggest is for you to take your coins to your local dealer and get a professional appraisal of these coins and go from there.
