What are they, what are they worth, How do you tell dates??.. Help Please

Just wondering the 1st is a 1838, 2nd Ships, colonies & commerce, 3rd Florin Date??
Can you also tell me value please.

The first is a political token that uses a reverse that was very popular. Not sure who got knocked out of power at that moment but here's a couple of links to similar medals from 1830 and 1837.

The second is a commercial token that dates from around 1815. It circulated mostly in Canada but I'm sure others folks will have more info. Don't know a thing about the florin...

mdccclix = 1859 for the Florin. It's a Gothic Florin, UK, Victoria - but I don't have a Krause number for it. Somebody better check me on the date. It's been a long time since I've used Roman numerals for anything

auldfartte nailed the date on the florin - 1859.

The value on it in that condition (fair, maybe aF) is about $20-$25.

1960NYGiants

The 2nd one is a Canadian Colonial Token from Prince Edward Island.

It looks like the no H mintmark, bar ampersand (&), short choppy uneven waves variety. Charlton catalogue # PE10-8, Lees 8.

Condition appears to be Fine, value about $12 Canadian or $9US.
