Hi everyone. I had such a good collecting weekend experience (for me any way), that I figured I'd post it here to share with everyone. It may not seem like much, but this weekend I was finally able to locate a few items that have been eluding me for years and picked up some additional goodies just because. First, I went to one of those hotel shows that have about 10-12 dealers with usually nothing but new stuff or damaged vintage at high prices, but was looking for something to do. At that show I was suprised to find 2 dealers who had decent vintage with some cards better than others, but nicer than expected. Long story short, I walked away with a very nice 74 Ted Simmons Stamp, 1958 Ken Boyer centered, 1958 Von McDaniel centered, 1978 Stan Musial Sports Caster card, 1969 Pete Rose, 1977 OPC Pete Rose, 1984 Topps Traded Tiffany Pete Rose, 1986 OPC Pete Rose # 1, & 1976 Johnny Bench, along with 2 off grade 1961 stamps of musial and Ken Boyer. Grand total spent at card show was $25.
Then went to flea market this morning and picked up a 1962 Red Stat Back exhibit card of Musial in nice shape, 1975 Topps Mini Ted Simmons, 1977 Topps Bruce Sutter Rookie, 1969 Jerry Koosman, 1962 Bill Mazeroski AS, 1961 Post Ken Boyer, 1961 Post Duke Snider, 1960 Topps Tattoo Willie Mays auto ball, & a 1950's model Willie Mays golve. Total spent at flea market $25. So for $50, I picked up some odd ball items, cardinal cards I needed, some additional high grade cards at good prices, and a cool looking glove to display.
Like I said, it might not be much, but it made my weekend.
