I usually buy bad coins when this happens, because abstinence makes me buy anything that looks even remotely close to a collectable coin. image

Go for small, affordable pieces -- not necessarily ones that go with your main collection, but which just catch your eye. "Life's simple pleasures."

I'm in a slump right now, but I hope to be rolling again in January. MN has never been a great source for foreign coins, so I have to resort to free time during business trips to get my fix.

With all my projects basically completed (one of these days, I will find an affordable William & Mary crown), I am stuck with a relatively aimless wandering among medals. I almost feel that it is not worth even going to the NYINC this January. Almost.
One potential, and difficult, project; papal portraits. I may use my NYINC visit to say hello to Allan Berman.
