Looking for reference on Silver bars, rounds, ingots

I seem to recall there being a descriptive or historical book on silver ibars/ngots and rounds. Has anyone else heard of such a thing?

Secondly, are there any online resources on the history of companies that produced silver bars in the past? Or any online descriptive information?

Any and all info will be greatly appreciated!

  • I have done a brief search on this and really found squat. I use ebay to look and see what other people are saying about it. I wish I could help you out more. I have some pretty cool silver round and would love to know their history as well, if you find anything out please post it here. I have some "coin replica" rounds and they are pretty cool to have.

There are a couple references for Franklin mint products.

There is a club for collecting these and they have issued some references but I'm
    not aware of any books.

Some of the old bars are mentioned in other references.

I have a reference somewhere but I think it's in a bannana box.

You might try calling Silvertown on that one.

  • There was a reference on silver art bars published back in the 1970's, and there is a club of silver art bar collectors that is working on a new up to date reference.
