I love the design on the "Bullhead" Halfcrown, that is up there with my all time favorite British coin designs!

I don't know what you people see in the design of that Bullshead (I think it's atrociously ugly) but to each his own.

But keep up the pictures, Rhound! I like them and you can see the great detail, even the hairlines on all of them. What I find particularly interesting is the strong doubling of the obverse of the 1818 half crown.

I thought the doubling was neat too, lots of unlisted varities, not sure if previous onwer(s) were aware or not, but these strike me fancy as well... They are ugly portraits, but they are still part of the type
    set none the less....

I have dialup, but you won't get any complaints from me ...

Those were well worth the wait image

My favorite of those three is the 1819 ... especially the reverse image

Great pictures. The Bullhead is ugly, but the guy was old and gone by then. The detail is what I like - on both sides. Look at the intricate work even in the leaves on the halfcrown.

    Thanks for posting the pictures.

  • Great coins and pictures Glenn. The first halfcrown almost looks unc, if it wasn't for the rim nick.
