How many completed "sets" do you currently have?

TommyTypeTommyType Posts: 4,586 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'll let you define what a "set" is.....

But I thought it might be interesting to see what people are holding, or what they do once a set is completed. Do they complete and sell to finance other pursuits, or do they complete and keep.

My answer for sets in-house:

1) Franklin Halves

And, to expand the question....what have you completed, and liquidated?

Me: Nothing. image

    zero...

and how many will I complete? One, if I'm lucky. A complete Lincoln cent set.

Now...what's "complete" to me? All known varieties. Over 2,500 coins to date.

  • I have a complete Franklin set. Mostly PCGS, with a few NGC that I may or may not try to cross. I actually have multiples of certain dates (I couldnt help my self, pretty coins).
I have had numerous Franklin sets over the years. I've sold them, and then a few years later, get the bug again.
Have always loved toned Franklins. Man, years ago it was a lot easier, and less expensive to get a beautifully toned Frankie....mint sets were cheap, and I busted up a lot to get some serious Frankies.

none. Although I have come close on jeffersons and lincolns. 80% and 70% on those.
  • I have a completed short set Merc Dime: 1934 - 1945, all PCGS FB 66, except the 1945, which is PCGS FB 64. No overdates.

I completed this about 5 years ago, and considering selling. What would be a fair price to ask for this set?

I'm a bit undecided right now, even stopped hoarding all the little stuff. Trying to regroup and establish some sort of goal, until then I'm working a circulated set of Mercs, any help is appriciated, check out the link below.
