Find a GD04 or less Memorial Lincoln, get it slabbed with PCGS and I'll pay you $250.00. Any year. The Lincoln itself has a value of 1c. Now, get it holdered with PCGS- figure $30 for your grading fees/postage- and if it's PO01 or FA02 or AG03 or GD04 I'll buy it from you for $250.00.
Fire up those rock tumblers! You'de think it would be easy to wear down a common copper coin, and if it doesn't work? Well, you're only out 1c.

<< <i>Brings up an interesting question: On post 1982 cents, at what point would you wear through the copper, and hit zinc.... Before or after reaching G-4?

You would most likely get some protrusion of zinc in the devices, but I'm guessing little else.

Wonder how ol' DH would handle that.

<< <i>If it comes back from PCGS in a G5 holder can I send it in for Presidential Review demanding a G4 label? Wonder how ol' DH would handle that. Jim >>
If it comes back in a GD05 holder I'll double my offering price to you!*
*Considering PCGS does not use the GD05 grade. . .

purple73- The best that was sent to me was a FA02 (I paid $100.00 for it as not only was it a FA02 and not a PO01, but it was NGC and not PCGS). Never did have a PO01 turn up (I was offering a $1,500.00 payout for one) in the six months my offer stood.
Currently I have a finders fee/payout in play for a PO01 1970-D but have yet to have any takers or even a PM letting me know one was in the tumbler and in the works for grading!
coinhusker1- I don't have any PCGS or NGC Registries at the present time.
Bottom line in ALL of these offers (a total of almost $3,000.00 for $1.51 in pocket change) is that no one has yet to show me a slabbable/gradable "artifically worn" contemporary coin. I always hear this myth about rock tumblers and ways to fake the wear but no one has ever ponied up any evidence that the 'wear' caused by these is easily detectible and would not fool PCGS or NGC.

Oh, sorry. Smoeone else a while back had posted a link to a registry of PO-1 and FR-2 coins (called is smoething like "a tribute to circulated coinage") and I thought it was you.
My worst wheatie might make G4, if it wouldn't get BB'd, that is.
