Isn't 3 weeks a little long to be waiting for a refund?

I conducted an ebay transaction with a forum member 6 weeks ago.
The coin was not as advertised imo. After waiting a few weeks for it to show up, I ended up returning it immediately. The coin was signed for 25 days ago. No check has been received on my end. A few emails have not been responded to either. I have no idea as to the status of the seller. This really stinks when one has to put up with service like this from a forum member who supposedly has a good reputation. Just a lack of consideration for the customer....or plain just forgot about it. Neither is really acceptable.
This is all very odd as this person has a good ebay feedback rating and posted positive feedback on me already. I just don't get it sometimes. I'd be bending over backwards to make things right if I were the seller. Sometimes things just don't look as good as they seem.

But on a more serious note, I agree 100%. Three weeks is way, way, way too long (one "way" for each week) to wait for the refund. If there is any other recourse, I would start considering it. Hopefully, there is a reasonable explanantion--though it does not seem likely based on your original post.
We do not hear too much about it, but there are probably a lot of deadbeats in the coin biz...even in the CU community.
I believe too much slack is given just because they are a forum member. Now I know some will take this as negative and I could care less.
If people play the "Don't tell game" it serves no purpose to come on here perhaps to get some leverage on such members IMO.
If it was a stranger people come on here and fry them. I would think they deserve a double frying just because they are indeed a forum member
and are "supposed" to be held in higher standards. As you say you see them post more auctions, go to shows, so there doesn't seem to be any personal crisis or anything.
Got a response stating there was a mixup. Hopefully a check to be arriving by Friday. I have no reason to fry someone if an "honest" mistake was made. But over 3 weeks starts to bend it a bit unless the USPS lost a letter. Thanks for your help.

My point is made. Funny how this always seems to happen.

I'm glad all apparently worked out for you though
