Peace Dollar VAM identification..........

I purchased a raw 1922 Peace dollar off Ebay and when it arrived I looked it over to see if their were any VAM like characteristics. What I found was that the RTY in "liberty" was strongly doubled....as a mater of fact it's the most pronounced doubling on a coin I've owned in quite a long time.

So If anyone out their could help me attribute this Peace dollar, I would be very appreciative. Pictures are below:

I don't see anything out of the ordinary.... Just some machine doubling that you refer to..... Are the initials under the neck doubled... ?

Nope initials look normal.......that's a lot of separation to be machine doubling isn't it???? I have had machine doubled coins and the doubling was slight so when I saw the separation here I thought Double Die, but I guess it might just be Machine Doubling. The seller listed it as a VAM 1, but with no letter after it and I am unaware of what a VAM 1 is so that's why I looked over the coin to see if I could spot anything.

A 1922 VAM 1's description.......

VAM 1- Early reverse design, branch not touching eagle's foot, leaf # 6 in branch cluster is rounded rather than pointed. On lower right of reverse, there are only 2 hills rather that 3, as seen in the later design, VAM 2.

Let me guess... it's the guy who sells them in those large plastic holders with the flags on them.......

Yes that would be correct. I guess the good news is I didn't buy it because he had it listed as a VAM, but rather I bought it because I got an AU for Melt and I thought the coin was worth that much

I actually like the holder it's in, it's not like it's rare or valuable, but I assumed if it was listed as a VAM that .....it would be....go figure
