Charles Conlon

Anybody have any prior dealings with this hobby veteran? Any feedback you could give me with this SCD advertiser would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The only Charles Conlon I'm aware of is the famous photographer for the Sporting News who has been dead for sometime.
  • He's been advertising in SCD for years.I bought an early 30's card from him years ago, and was happy w/ it. He only has selected offerings. Recommend.

I purchased a card from him a few years ago.

Old style grading standards for sure.

I'll agree with Koby on the grading, but he's a really good guy with a lot of knowledge he's very willing to share. I doubt you'd have any problems returning anything you felt was overgraded.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • I bought several of my Wilson Franks off ol' Charley. He lives near me.

Like Koby said, figure in 1980's grading standards and you'll be fine. But hey, whether your buying from Verkman, Fritch, or Kit Young, don't expect their EX's to be in five holders any time soon.

Charley must hold the record for the same SCD ad that was used for over 10 years. (is it still the same?)

i bought 8 or 10 1975 mini wax boxes from him.
while the cards weren't great the boxes were
gem mint and unopened.a certain dealer you all
love who names himself after his kids actually
opened 5 packs, didnt like the centering and
returned the rest of the formerly unopened box
to me.nice huh?!?(it was a couple years ago so
i'm not ratting on him)...any guesses???
