Should I Neg This Seller

Looking for some thoughts on this. Heres how it went down:

Won two items from this seller. Asked for price to combine shipping and add insurance. Four day's and three emails later I finally got the correct answer. Last night got an email stating they sent me the wrong coin. It seems that they had two same year/type coins that ended at the same time. Since I combined shipping, to save cost, I can't "Return To Sender". I have to use my own packaging, mailer, and go to the Post Office, to return the incorrect coin. They did say they will reimburse me shipping cost's. What do you think? Thanks, Lee

  • Just read your own statement in your sig block. That ought to answer your question.

If they reimburse your cost to ship the coin back to them, and they send you the correct coin, they don't deserve a negative in my opinion.

    See above two posts.

  • Looks too complicated already. If they have a no questions asked return privilege, I'd just return to sender and ask for a full refund. If asked, tell them these were intended as birthday presents, you can't give one without the other, and it's now going to be too late. This is probably an honest mixup but when things keep going wrong, just bail out and get your money back. It's not like you just bought one of 15 1804 silver dollars and can't find replacements. Don't neg unless they refuse a refund.

  • It sounds like he is making it right, you should give him a positive, and state that he handled the situation professionally.

If you don't open the package, and simply write "Return to sender" on it, then you will not have to pay any postage, nor will you have to use any of your own packaging materials.

TOM B seems to have the right idea. Just email the seller of your plans to refuse the package.

The seller seems to want to do the right thing and does not deserve a neg.

  • I've had a lot worse experience than that, but the guy worked it out. I gave him pos and said the transaction took 25 days to complete.
