What's New From the Mailman?

We haven't done this in a long time...what have you guys picked up lately that you are particularly proud of or just want to show off!

For the Stan the Man fans, I picked up this cool bat rack from the 60's - still in the original packaging - the rest of the rack is behind and has to be put together - obviously I couldn't fit the whole thing in the scanner.

I also picked up this 80T BKB Original Card art of Dwight Jones, Bulls

Seriously though, Knuckles - sorry for your loss. Some lessons cost a little dough.

    These came in yesterday's mail:
First, a near set (21/24) 1963 Pepsi Cola Tulsa Oilers, featuring Pepper Martin and my favorite '60s minor leaguer, Jim Beauchamp:

Also, a nice stack of N129s:

BTW - the "paper loss" look around the edges is part of the design of the card.

  • A bogus PSA/DNA auto 8 X 10 of Martin Brodeur.
Here's what it should look like and here's another
    sample
  • Sure bring up a sore spot with me the mail service. 2 Packages with delivery confirmation lost ( sent to me) Mail used to run at 1pm last week or so 6pm or later. Last bubble mailer folded in half , non graded card.....ouch... Sorry went off on a rant what has he brought that made it undamaged.....

Very proud to own it. Might not be worth much but it took a long time to locate. I called PSA and they are 90% certain they will grade it. I might have to educate PSA 1st. I bought a handful a guy I found in Boston had 5 all of them are missing a piece. According to him they came like that. Lowe left corner up a little from the bottom.

Nice Martin card! The non-sport card N29 is sweet. On the art - I have a load of cartoons and some watercolor stuff. Will have a show and tell thread with others to show their stuff if people are interested.
    Perry
Who is that auto? Can't make it out - is it Pete? On the bat card - it is really nice and don't need to go down that road about the "chop shop"
    James
I like the Boggs stamp - so is the lower left a tear or just the way the stamps were cut? If you get time, could you scan with more detail?
    Ranger
What condition on the 73T set? That is one of the toughest sets to do - especially in high quality - I have a Clemente with all kinds of black ink spray!
    Nick
Could you post the card when you get it?
    Bernie
I'm working on that set - was that one recent - like from Bollman - I was watching about 7 graded cards a few weeks ago - but they went too high for my budget right now - worth the $ tho - I picked up a couple from Bollman a few months back but paid above SMR. Absolutely beautiful card!!!!!
    Hey Knuckles
Somebody had some really rough sex with that card!

How'd you get it to display like that? I could only get it to link.

    Mike,

The card is recent. It was from the same group you were watching a couple weeks ago. This was from "Oldoriole" on E-Bay, and it was the one that I keyed on from the group. I had to fend off some late snipes, but it was worth it.

Picked up a VG/EX raw Addie Joss about the same time on a BIN. Again, probably overpayed, but after watching a PSA 5 common go for $1525, I got trigger happy.

Novocent - click on the link, copy the address, then go back to your post and click on the colored icon (4th from the left; looks like a framed picture of a mountain). Paste the address in there and click okay. Or you can do it in the upload box (and not have to have a link in your message) while you post your message by uploading the scan and then hitting "view scan" with the scan highlighted. That ought to take you to the scan address. It comes as a pop-up, so if you have pop-up blocker you'll have to click on the blocked pop-up notice. It appears on my screen at the lower right corner.

Just got a 1931 Churchman Famous Golfers Large Bobby Jones in PSA 8. It moved me to #2 on the registry.

Sorry no scans, but it was a nice update from my psa 6

Are you going to send the Joss for grading? I've got two to send in but am so lazy about putting the thing together to send in.

Here's one that I picked up cheap - kind of sorry looking but it's still a T3!

    Perry
He was my dad's favorite also! My dad used to tell me that he thought that pound for pound, no one hit as hard as he did - also that he would hit with a short (non-telegraphed) punch that would knock the lights out on someone!
Does you dad say the same?
    Got any good pics? Cards?

Not so sorry Mike, the player portion of the card looks undamaged. That's the great thing about T3's , oftentimes the damage is confined to the borders and they still look great.....truly works of art.
