1910 T118 - The World's Greatest Explorers

Celebrating Admiral Peary's journey to the North Pole the year before - this set is complete at 25 cards. The American Tobacco Cards price guide & checklist states that it is a companion set with the 25-card T30 Arctic Scenes set; here's a pre-grading preview:

They are very nice cards. Do you have the Artic Scenes set as well, if so any scans?
Also, my Murrays catalog has this set listed as 1914 rather than 1910 but I know Murrays is prone to errors. Is 1910 correct?
thanks for the scans.

edited to add: Does anyone have any of these to trade?
I haven't any interest in the T30 set at this time, as I'm finding that the early tobacco issues I like are the ones that feature people rather than places. As far as the year goes, the ATC guide is pretty good with their info. You can pick one up on eBay fairly inexpensively. I'm not familiar with Murrays - do they focus more on cards on your side of the pond?

I picked up a set of these at the National, and they are my favorite set. Bob Marcy told me they were 1910, although opinions on this vary.

Murrays is the standard in the UK, used by every dealer I know to price their cards. They have a standard catalogue that is updated each year (2005 edition was released last month). They also produce some smaller publications on specialist areas.

There are some sets where I enjoy reading the backs of the cards almost as much as looking at the fronts.

Ya wonder if there is the original art of for those litho style cards that probably got trashed. That's one thing I like about Topps...nothing gets trashed...someone thinking ahead advised them....save this stuff...it will be worth something someday.
thanx for sharing...BTW I liked the Sisler card so much that I emailed a guy in the UK to see if he could get me a real nice one or the entire set.

The artwork and the back text was done by an artist named Albert Operti, who also did the text on the backs of the T118s. I would think there are originals around - Operti is/was a highly regarded recorder of Arctic life and scenes.
