LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES LEFT!!! I Just Listed My First Item on Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it. Link to my Ebay item. I know, it's a bit much for a starting bid, but my father and I couldn't figure out how to do the reserve thing, so we're going to hold off on that till our next one, next week. This is my first item ever. So in 7 days based on how I do on this one, i'll post more Morgan dollar, a lot better ones, and other neat quality coins. Please bid away. If you didn't know my Ebay name is michael4126image Enjoy.

Looks to be a nice coin. You may want to check your shipping figures. They seem steep for that item. Insurance should only be $1.10 if needed, and you can get that coin off first class for about $1.50.

Only mentioning it because on this value item, those numbers will affect your overall results.

Good luck with your sale. image

Thanks, I didn't know that until I put it up for sale with my next one though I like take the time to figure out a smaller number for the shipping price. This was mostly my fathers ideas, what ever he say's goes.image

Yes,you could probably ship it for $1.50,however most sellers list shipping at $3-4.So your not in the red at all.As for the insurance $2 is to high, and $1.10 is to low.The correct cost is $1.30 for $50 and under items.I would suggest picking up one of the pamplets from the post office on rates. It's helped me alot.
    Altogether you're off to a good start,with a very nice Morgan.image
But just one question:are the fingers included?image

Yeah thanks, it was a last minute thing. I was doing homework, took about 10 shots of the coin, and my father said that one was the best. I didn't have time to crop of the fingers. If you'd like I can send them with no extra charge.image

Scott don't worry about the fingers good pictures and the fingers on a slabed coin show that the color in onscale and not dorked with. That is important on toned coins.
An easy way for to build your auctions so that have time to play with them and not be committed to start them is Turbo Lister you can down load and build a file of auctions and save to your computer. It's free and you can get it at the eBay sellers tools option.
As for shipping costs remember that it's not just stamps and insurance. You also must think about what your going to ship the item in. I use padded mailer and they cost about a quarter each. Also if insurance in incleded in the sale you have the expense and time of going to the post office. For me thats a three mile onway trip and normally about thirty minutes. If I were earning minium wage that's still a couple of dollars.
Sorry that I don't collect Morgans or I'd bid on your coin.
  • Thanks LindeDad. It end tommorrow night! Look for a main thread to come up on here for all my Ebay postings for the month. Thats how im going to handle it. One thread a month on here. I'll probably list a few more items on today, pending my father gets the wine he's working on done.image
