Just got the catalog for this Auction in the mail. I personally have never seen a better catalog or collection of coins then this one. I know I'm new to collecting but these coins are just amazing. We're at the dawn of a new age for collector's and probably don't even realize it yet. With Computers, Digital Camera's, etc., we'll be "Sight Seen" by looking at our Computer Screens. And it won't be that far in our future! Just look how much better pictures we've been seeing posted here by fellow forum members in the past few month's. I love it! I just may have to be in Baltimore on the 29th to see these coins in person! I'm going to ANR's website tommorrow to see better pics of these fabulous coins. Anybody got some money to loan? Ha, Ha. Just wanted to share my thoughts. Also, how is this Auction going to effect the other Auction in Baltimore? Curious minds would like to know, as I'm new to all of this. Thanks, Lee

WOW !! A very nice collection, including some awesome patterns !
When I received the catalog a week or so later, and had a chance to review at my leisure, I realized how wrong I was. First of all, the physical catalog is gorgeous. The farm picture framed in red on the cover must have subliminal "home for the holiday with coin" message because every time I look at the catalog, I get the urge to pull a coin out of a Christmas stocking. For someone like me who does not celebrate Christmas, that is quite good.
Next, the selection of non-rare date gold coins is tremendous. From the Strawberry leaf 1793 cent through the extensive collection of seated silver coins, through the patterns, there's quite a bit of good stuff. Then, to cap it off, no fewer than ELEVEN High Relief Saints!
What an auction! Nice job, again, ANR.

ditto same here - very very impressive work indeed.

Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."
My best guess is that it did not meet reserve.
