If you could find that one coin..........
that you've been searching for, what would it be. I'm not talking about the Gothic Crowns and Unas. Just the hard to find rareities that seem to elude you at every turn. They may not even be that expensive.
For me it's a 1943 South Africa Proof 1/2d. It has a mintage of 104, which is low but not the lowest of my collection. It would fill a big hole in my set. I've never seen one offered outside of a complete proof set.
What's yours???

Mine is a Victoria Young Head sovereign....stone-cold gem unc.
The 1842 went cheap, but I was waiting for the 1851, and it blew me away.... !
I passed on an 1838 which wasn't quite a true gem, and then PCGS put it in a "coffin".
I sleep well knowing that Vic will one day bring me nirvahna for a song!!! La-la-la-la-laaaaaaa! How's that Vicky?

You bet me to it with that quote!
That's a good choice too. But at what cost? £2500 or so!!!

That's what troubles me. Any other non-year set proof is £250-£400. It's a mega version of a 1927 Florin.
I will probably resort to sending a favorite dealer a want lis in order to get them....
