Did you happen to see the auction on eBay ending on Sunday evening? (in case you want a spare)

1983 Boston Herald RED SOX Stamp Set Ted Williams
  • I will buy that one aswell and for less. I have searched ebay and never could find one. I should have searched using more years I guess. According to guides it is 1982. I will submit the bes to PSA. Thanks !!!

Thanks for the link I won the auction and am making a deal to buy another handful of complete sets. I have loooked for so long I cant believe I missed the auction myself. I would have paid far more for the card ( stamp) Next Question will PSA grade these?

    James:

It is always a crapshoot as to what PSA grades and what they do not. I think all player collectors know that to some extent. I would say that PSA definitely grades the 1982 and 1983 Fleer Stamps - and PSA recently graded for me two 1989 Grenada MLB stamps of Mike Schmidt. So-----they might.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

According to PSA, and it's printed right on the submission form, they will grade most cards that are cataloged in major sportscard publications, including SMR, Krause SCD & Beckett. I think as long as it has a price listed for it in the guide, which means it was authorized, and they have a slab that will holder it, they'll grade it, so you should be in good shape.

I would not be so confident. Ask JEB or others about problems along these lines. PSA has three times rejected my Chef Boyardee cards - and my Perma-Graphics cards twice. However, other Mike Schmidt collectors have gotten those cards graded. They sometimes grade the 1984 Ralston Purina cards - sometimes they do not. With many of the obscure issues - it literally is a hit-or-miss type phenomenon.

  • Thanks for the help. Recently I had my Purina rejected "dont grade". I will send it in under the special and see what happens. It is a very obscure regional issue you had to mail in to get it. I went from 0 stamps and I should own 5 this week. I think my idea of an * in the pops of what they no longer grade would help.
