After their total domination today and I believe they will beat Alabama next week, They have earned the right to play for the National title no matter what the BCS says!

beat Bama and then win the SEC.
Can we now all agree that Wisconsin was a fraud?
Thanks
JS
If Auburn wins next week they should be # 1! usc is struggling at home against ua!!!! and ok did not blow out nebraska the way they should have! Auburn blew out georgia they should be the # 1 or # 2 for sure team in the nation!
im a south carolina fan so not being a favorite towards Auburn here! I just think they deserve a shot!
they are doing SO DAMN WELL this year.
But I feel the way Joe does...
Let's wait and see how things shake out
after they beat Bama next week
and then beat Tennessee the SEC Championship.
A lot can and does happen each week...
but if they win out, THEN I think they deserve
as shot.
Auburns schedule should have had some
better Non-conference teams, but the SEC
games have proved to be plenty strong enough
to prove their schedule is not all cupcakes!
War Eagle!
<< <i>RONNIE BROWN!!!!! YOU SEE NOW HE IS THE BEST BACK IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL! MAN HE WILL LOOK GREAT WITH A STAR ON HIS HELMET! >>
who the hell is he? best back in college football??
ever heard of Cedric Benson?
Alabama squad first, and then the SEC title game.
I would vote them #1 in the country right now.
Oklahoma would be #2, and USC #3.
Anybody who had money on the Nebraska - Oklahoma
game last night must have been going nuts in the
last two minutes.
USC was the national title winner last year, hasn't lost a game all year this year, they deserve to be #1.
Georgia loses at home to Tennessee.
Tennessee loses at home to Notre Dame.
Notre Dame loses at home to Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh loses at home to Nebraska.
Nebraska gets handled by Oklahoma.
I still think Auburn is the best team in the country.
Remember, football is a team game, and Auburn plays
the best all around team football in the country.
Same way that Ohio State was the best TEAM in the country
when they beat Miami in the championship game.
Auburn is more solid then any team in the country right now.
Having said that, they have to beat Alabama by 3 touchdowns
to move up in the polls. I don't think they can do it, but
we'll see next weekend.
Oklahoma last year probably shouldn't have played in the championship game.
Oklahoma lost to Kansas State
Kansas State lost to Ohio State
Ohio State lost to Wisconsin
Wisconsin lost to Auburn
Auburn lost to Ga Tech
Ga Tech lost to Duke

they are only 2 points behind oklahoma in the coaches poll this week, and they are tied for 2nd with oklahoma in the ap sportswriters poll. if they are able to beat alabama and the sec championship opponent (ga or tn) then they will end up being higher than oklahoma in both polls, and the bcs. and yes, usc is best in country now, and ironically started last year by beating auburn, and could end up playing them last this season.
if they win outright, but the coaches poll will now favor Auburn after
the disgraceful thing that Bob Stoops did in Norman against Nebraska
this weekend.
Coaches will stick it to him for trying to run up the score on Nebraska.
No coach likes to see a team keep their starters in and throwing for
the end zone with a minute left when a team is leading 30-0.
Oklahoma is ABSOLUTELY DOOMED if Auburn wins outright. They have
no chance whatsoever.
USC is a quality football team. However, it's Auburns year this year.
I know you may not go by this, but how often do teams go back to back ?
Wasn't Nebraska the last team to do it 10 years ago. It doesn't happen too often.
Not only that but Auburn just simply has the all around better team.
and will likely move Auburn up if they win out,
but the BCS still be a problem, due to the
Computer rankings consistantly placing
OK in the #1 spot.
All Auburn can do is stay on top of what they
CAN control. They have to win their games,
and hopefully win convincingly enough to
Impress the coaches and sportswriters
AND the computers...
That is all they can do.
USC is not playing like a champion this year.
They've had to come back four times in the second
half already this year. They had close calls against
4-6 Stanford and 5-5 Oregon State.
They are a great team, but they are not convincing anyone
that they are the best.
<< <i>Auburn might very well be the best team in the country, but if all three go undefeated and Auburn is not picked for the national championship game then they have no one but themselves to blame. They played Louisana-Monroe, Mississippi State, The Citadel, Louisiana Tech, Kentucky and Ole Miss., a schedule which doesn't impress anyone except Auburn fans. >>
I agree they need to beef up the
Non-conference schedule (La Tech, Citadel, La-Monroe)
and have played better in the past (USC last two years)
but they have no choice but to
play Ole Miss, Kentucky and Miss state.
They are required conference games.
Just like when OK plays Baylor or Kansas.
or when USC plays Washington or Stanford, or Arizona.
(or anyone in the ACC....)
<< <i>Axtell,
USC is not playing like a champion this year. >>
Sorry, but I agree with Axtell
on this one (and we rarely agree on anything!)
I think that USC proved last year that they
were great and deserved #1,
and have not lost so they are the best until
proved otherwise.
I just hope that Auburn gets a chance to
try and beat them in the Orange bowl...

Well, that is One more, and undefeated
for the regular season for Auburn.
If they can beat Tennessee AGAIN in two weeks
(which will not likely be a cakewalk)
then we SHOULD get a shot at Orange...
we will just have to win again.

Brian
beat USC so we can see that good
50/50 game without the controversy
of 3 undefeated teams.
(or OK could lose to Iowa State.... but less likely)

I'll let it be known that I still think Auburn is the best teams in the country, but
boy what a mess it is now.
Let's say that all teams win outright and are undefeated.
I guess the best thing to do is let USC play Oklahoma
and Auburn play Utah. Then they can do the voting after
those two games.
What would be fair is to give the championship to the two
winners.
<< <i>Wow...
I'll let it be known that I still think Auburn is the best teams in the country, but

well,
Sad as it is...
Auburn's non-conference schedule is going to
cost them a shot a the national title.
if they had just kept ONE of their previous games
on their schedule - Georgia Tech, Southern Miss, or USC
might be different, but now they will just have to settle
for playing in the Sugar Bowl against either Miami or VA tech.
and hopefully KILLING the Vols on the way...
Not unless USC or Oklahoma loses. I say it every year--IF you want to be sure to ranked high, schedule some tough non conference foes---and beat them. While Ok doesn't play such a tough schedule either, if either Auburn or OK had scheduled some decent games, then the voters would have taken that into consideration and voted accordingly. At least OK beat Texas. And USC beat Cal, plus beat Va Tech out of conference.
<< <i>IF you want to be sure to ranked high, schedule some tough non conference foes---and beat them.

I agree.
Auburn burned themselves with the NON-COFERENCE
schedule...
<< <i>Does anyone think Auburn should be in the Title game?

Ok, let's look at this carefully...
All three teams played teams that sucked...
so let us look at the GOOD teams they played.
Oklahoma = beat only 1 top 15 team all year... (texas)
USC = beat 2 top 15 team all year... (cal, va tech)
but
Auburn = beat 3 Top 15 teams - (georgia, lsu, tennessee)
(and make it 4 times this year if they win tonight...)
hmmmm?
Hand them 1/2 a national championship for beating Utah? I don't think so.
If they don't make it to the title game I don't see how they could move up in anyone's final rankings playing a weaker opponent.
Sorry,

Auburn (assuming they beat Tennessee today)
will be in the Sugar bowl against Virginia Tech,
(they are not playing Utah)
I think the best they could do is #2
(they go in at #3, and win against VaTech
and USC-#1 beats OK-#2, so they drop to #3
since they have a loss and Auburn does not...)
<< <i>Yeah BSC is a joke, kinda like the refs that blew the whistle a few minutes ago on Browns Fumble that would tied the game 17-17... >>
or the blown call on the "catch" in the endzone
when it clearly hit the turf and the Vol player
scooped it up...
but hey, we won and are 12-0
headed to the Sugar.

I suspect that goodriddance189
is very familiar with who Ronnie Brown is now.
but that Benson fellow is pretty good too
I guess.
Great pick up for the dolphins look for him to have 1000+ next year.
and had a friend invite Ronnie
to his son's 3rd birthday party last summer.
Not only did he come, he brought a gift,
stayed for hours, signed autos and
posed for pictures for all the kids
(and their dads!),
played football with the kids,
ate cake and
sang happy birthday!
and of course I got a football signed for myself!!

Watched a couple Auburn games this year and the man is definetly a player . Seemed like a cool guy too during the whole draft interviews and everything
