Do "auction" auctions on eBay gripe you?

topstuftopstuf Posts: 14,803 ✭✭✭✭✭
They do me. I just sent them a message (oh boy...they'll probly change Monday) telling them that I do not search offerings as much due to the presence of the "non ebay type auctions" that require separate registration and extra hoops to jump through.

I go on ebay to see BIN and offerings from dealers and collectors who have a "store" or offerings that are my COST as per every other dang thing on ebay.

I have nothing against a coin auctioneer saving money on catalogs by placing these "auctions" on ebay, but my opinion is that if it is going to be on ebay, it should conform to every other listing.

Whaddya think?

I hate having to sort through those. Who goes through eBay on them anyhow? In the case of Heritage auctions, an extra 5% is tacked on for the "privelege" of bidding through eBay.

I have to agree with you- Those other auctions are annoying, and I end up just bliping by them........

  • They should be in their own category and not clogging up searches.

ttt.....cuz if a large enough sample answers, I will include the copied results in a reply to the email I am sure to get from eBay due to my voicing my opinion.

NOT that it will make a difference, but a lick of sense should tell them SOMETHING about where their interests lie.

Do they want to be the "auction catalog house" or the place that generates fees, fees, fees for millions of transactions?

    Topstuff,

I totally agree, I hate them with a passion. In fact, when it gets to that time when an auction house lists on e-bay, I usually dont even search for specific dates during that time. It clutters up the standard listings. 99% of the time, I have already searched the auction house catalog on line direct and dont need the e-bay listing to catch my attention. And, I can definitely tell you I would not bid thru the e-bay system and pay yet an additional 5% on top of the 15%.

I don't like the live auction stuff, if that's what you are talking about...
