Newbie question two: Peace dollars at auction

I will be attending an auction in the next couple weeks where a collector is selling his Peace dollar collection. Any hints on what to look for or pay? Or do you recommend I simply refer to the Red Book? Thanks again!

I alway's look to get a bargain from small auctions on the common date stuff- most collectors and dealers pay big bucks for the better dates no matter how poor they may be. Original rolls of 1922 and 1923 can be good bargains. Nicely toned common dates can scare most away when the bidding goes over 2X so if you have an eye for toners you could do well if they are present. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. mike image
