2 very special coins I have just added to my collection

As some of you know I REALLY enjoy pedigreed coins. I was personally offered the 2 coins below which are the 1882 and 1884 plate coins from Wayne Miller's Morgan and Peace Dollar textbook. These coins are on page 96 and 104. I believe the 82 could be graded DMPL by NGC standards, it is close.

The pops on these coins are:

1882 19/0 with only 8 DPL's in ms65, no 66DPL's
1884 12/4 with only 15 65DPL's and no 66DPL's

This is the kind of special coin that gets me going. I love coins with history and that are famous. Also included with the purchase was the original capital plastics holders from the 1986 Superior Auction.

enjoy

JB, very historic and very cool! Now, please find me a few of the plated bag toned Morgans from Superior's Hoffecker Sale of 1987, ex. Continental Bank Hoard. Then we can talk and large sums of money will be exchanged. image

Congrats and nice coins. It's great to have coins with a pedigree.

  • Nice. Very nice. Nothing like coins with a little history to them.
