Jefferson Guys - 68-S FS question NGC vs. PCGS

I was lucky enough to find a FS 1968-S Jefferson that has 6 complete steps. I need the cash so I want to sell it at auction. Since it would FS at NGC and obviously PCGS would it be better to have it in a POP 1 NGC holder or a POP 4 pcgs holder?
Thanks
Brian
BTW I will try to take scans but steps don't show up well even when they are full on my scanner.

I have no idea how to answer your question, but that is one NICE '68-S. Congrats on the score!

that's a tough issue in FS and it shouldn't really matter which holder it's in provided the steps are unbridged and complete with no nicks whatsoever. as described, it should bring top dollar in either holder from a true Jefferson collector but would return in a heartbeat with any weakness/bridge/flaw. what's the grade estimate??
the only advantage i could see is with NGC the buyer would know the step count---5 or 6.

For that reason I'd go with NGC. If they designate 6 steps, you have got yourself one heck of a find.
I think PCGS should start 5 & 6 steps designation for Jeffs. This desigantion is very significant in modern Jeffs due to the commonality of FS in recently minted Jeffs. JMHO

Probably a 66 NGC would sell better than a 65 PCGS.
I think you'd be better off going with PCGS as it is most probably a 5FS (again, based only on the pic). Nice steps for such a hard date/mm regardless!
As for PCGS going with a 5FS or a 6FS label....cold day in he11 before they follow NGCs lead even tho it would benefit them as well as the FS Jeff collectors out there like myself.
