A TOREX Pickup

I picked up this one on the bourse at TOREX. Sorry about the quality of the photo. Taking good pics through two layers of plastic in an ICCS holder is tough. Still waiting for the coins I bought in the TOREX auction to arrive. Hurry up Mr. Postman!

Congrats! When are you going to pick up the Small Date variety in MS-65 RD? image

Actually, I saw a SDSL there in 65 Red (ICCS). I passed because it was just dark enough that I think PCGS would have called it RB, plus I had spent more than I had planned at the auction the night before. image

P.S. The PCGS populations in 65 Red are as follows:

    1891 LDLL 1/0
    1891 SDLL 0/0
    1891 SDSL 4/0

At least in 65 Red, the LDLL is a much tougher coin than the lower grades would lead one to believe.

Be the first on your block to certify a SDLL in MS65 RD. image

There are two Vicky cents that neither ICCS nor PCGS have certified in MS-65 (Brown, Red or RB). I, and the rest of the world, are still looking for a 1859 Dpn9 #1 or a 1891 SDLL in 65 anything. I am convinced that some are out there in collections that pre-date slabbing. Hope springs eternal.
