Now, just how in the....world, are collectors supposed to differentiate between NT and AT when it comes to coins like the NGC specimen? I've seen silver do crazy thins including turning "Plum Purple". I have some killer pieces, with color that's just incredible. How my coins got that way, I haven't a clue and I certainly do not know the least bit about "cooking" coins. I did throw some old AU/ BU Roosies in a cardboard box and simply forgot about them for a couple years and they came out with similar color. NT or AT? I didn't "DO" anything! By the way Frank, that NGC coin is a Monter!

I have a Franklin with FBL that has to be the prettiest toned coin I have ever seen yet I'm afraid to submit it. The obverse is full of Blue with a hue of Reddish Purple/ Maroon that when the colors come together there is a slow transition like how a rainbow just moves from one shade to the next. That's the best I can do to decribe it and the Reverse is just the same except for the presence of a Golden color mixed in. AWESOME. I've been around coins for many years and even have some wild colored coins in my Registry set, yet with all that I cannot tell the difference between NT and AT coins. Blue Quarters, halves and dimes with Red, Maroon and Gold in them??? Man, you've got me!

Tell me. If I just take a roll of silver quarters and lay all 40 out on a jeweler's tray here in my office and do absolutely nothing to them but turn them once a week, are they NT or AT? Thanks in advance if anyone knows.image
