Joe Paterno Won't leave......

77 year old Joe Paterno will have to be pried from the stadium benches before he'll ever admit the Game has passed him by.

I mean, traditions are great, but its time for Penn State to start building a new one....without him.

Its sad when people stay around too long in sports and tarnish a sterling career.

  • I'm sorry Joe...didn't I ask your permission before travelling to L.A. on business?

    Sorry Bucs Boy.....

You know, they say that if you give a monkey a keyboard, he would duplicate Shakespeare at some point.

Reading your sophmoric posts I want to test this theory with you as our Village Monkey....so keep banging those keys...who knows...maybe something will make sense some day image

  • Yes...I'm in L.A. with a chance to hit the Sunset strip and Melrose Ave., but I was wrestling with the opportunity to spend my night online with you in hopeless dialogue...hmmm...tough choice.....hmmmm

As to the Eagles game....Steelers were the better team as they have been through their last several games; Eagles were due for a letdown as well.

Anyway, this is a Penn State post .

I'll see you on the usual Eagles suk, Bucs can still make the playoffs rant in any one of a number threads you will infect.

Nobody is a bigger Penn State football fan and Joe Paterno fan than me. I was once in Joe's home at State College along with a group of people. Joe and his wife treated us as though we were royalty - not just common students. He is of course one of the most respected and beloved people in sports. But it has been time for Joe to step down. I said that at the end of last season but knew Joe wouldn't. After he digests the results of this abysmal season, I think there could be a possibility that he might step down - just a feeling based on no information whatsoever. He could still maintain a lot of influence over the football program and that would be fine. But he has to face the facts that he cannot successfully do it anymore, and so leave the head coaching and most recruiting to someone else.

I dont follow Penn State much but I do like Paterno and the history of the team, I heard Notre Dame over the years has made requirements for scholarships much harder than in the past thus not many championship runs. Has Penn State done the same? I believe that Joe Pa might need to enjoy some retirment but is the requirments too tuff to get studs into the program?
