Home PSA Set Registry Forum

I just created an excel file to track your PSA collection

PM me if you'd like a copy. I have created it only for my vintage football sets. If I have time, I might be able to modify it for vintage baseball.

Regards,

lol...I feel that I have to be more explicit. I have created an excel sheet for the USER to track their own collection. Jesus - I try to be helpful and am given nothing but grief...

Jeb's spreadsheet is so good that 1) I paid money for it and 2) I used it as the basis for my massive Access database and reports.
  • Steve,

Thank you for your support! I'm going on year #3 with this website, and with the help of others such as yourself, I'll be able to keep it going. As soon as it starts costing me money, the site goes down. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped to keep the site up and running.

    JEB,

Not trying to step on any toes, but mine is pretty darn good also. If anyone wants to try it out, just let me know.

JEB- any chance of getting a few extra columns added- SMR, that would total up, and price paid (to really depress us when viewed against SMR)?

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • Old Timer here (52 Years Old), grew up before calculators existed, expert on abacus & slide rules, don't need a spred sheet to keep track of my collection. Doing fine with my Eagle Planner pen & paper setup. No disrespect, but I'm suspious of anything that is offered as a "freebie". My life expierience is that free things are worth less than what you pay for them. Just my 2 cents worth

No offense warhound - but what do you have to be suspicious about? I have roughly 30 sets registered on the registry - do you think I'm offering a free spreadsheet to peer into your life and steal your collection??? It's a rough crowd here.

    Regards,

    Greg M.

Thanks Fabfrank - I was only trying to do something nice and get to know some of the people on the boards. It's lonely being a vintage football and Marino collector image

WarHound> "No disrespect, but I'm suspious of anything that is offered as a "freebie". My life expierience is that free things are worth less than what you pay for them."

Obviously you just have to pick and choose which "freebies" are worth your time. I'm a computer technician by trade and some of the best and most commonly-used software are "freebies". You're on the forum, so you're using a web browser - that's a freebie. MS bundles Internet Explorer with the Windows, but it's also available as a seperate and no-cost download. Just like any other web browser. Are you using Outlook Express or Eudora? Those are free too. The best spybot and adware removal utilities are free too. In my mind, price is not a determinant of quality. I'd rather get a small useful tool for free than pay for a bloated confusing one.

Jeb's spreadsheets are very nice for anyone doing a graded set. Because I'm no longer doing graded sets they aren't much help to me, but that's not a sign of their value - they're just the wrong tool for me. I'm just building high-grade raw sets. Because I'm doing all the major baseball sets from 1969-1984 (incl Fleer & Donruss), a pen and paper to keep track of them just isn't going to do it for me. That's almost 17,000 cards - and because most of the sets will be upgraded on the fly, I'll have a ton of duplicates to manage. I'm going to want something I can go to that will quickly and easily tell me which of the three (or whatever) examples of a given card exhibit which characteristics.

I'm thinking about building a Filemaker database to do this - to the point of debating whether to include the ability to do bar-code labels for each card. I have to see if I can work it in among the other projects I have going. . .

    Mike

So full of action, my name should be a verb.

What the heck are you talking about? I give and take as much as anyone here, including a whole lot of self-deprecation. You got some smart-ass responses and appeared to be taking them personally. That was my only point.

Yeah that is exactly what it is...or wait...it could just be a typo.
  • Gregs spreadsheet is really good, you guy should try it out. But you gotta wonder about any guy who will trade a junky marino card for a 1980 nolan ryan psa 9. Just kidding...thanks for the spread sheet and the card.

No worries Greg. You're not the only vintage football collector here. I am slowly working on a 1959 Topps set as well. Heck, we're probably buttin' heads on a few of those ebay listings. I also created a few spreadsheets. I emailed you a copy of the one I use for my 1967 Topps Baseball. I added a formula that will allow you to put in a grade with a qualifier and still get an accurate "Weighted GPA." If you need any help with formulas or see any I can use LMK!

    Varga,
It's so hard to tell sometimes when you're kidding and when you're joking. Try using image when you're kidding, and image when you're joking. That way there won't be as much confusion. image
