    I like the look of that! Much better in silver.

    Actually i don't find Geo III coins all that ugly, i think Geo III looks alright. If you want ugly you should see Jefferson nickels, or the old head George II stuff.

    He is made more ugly due to the fact that our own aethelred has a type set of his coins.

    It's strange that their are so many varieties of George III reliefs and he looks radically different on each of them. My favourite is the following relief. He looks like a force to be reckoned with!

    There are two Geo III obverse portraits i don't like.

    The large head halfcrowns and the type 4 obverse on the guineas, with the massive trunction.

    I think the George III busts are some of the ugliest effigies I've ever seen on any coinage, particularly the latter, 1816 bust.

    But the silver proof pattern Cartwheel is mighty cool-looking!
