Vindication for MBT--Scammer back to old tricks!!!

On the U.S. & WORLD CURRENCY FORUM there is a thread about the scamster that ripped me off @

http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=23&threadid=337429&STARTPAGE=2

It appears she's back at her old tricks with current Ebay offerings.

I was ticked off at being ripped off and vented on this board. In response, I was smashed and bashed all over the board. I kept protesting that I was the victim. New on the boards at the time, I mistakenly "fought fire with fire" and gave the flamers a field day.

Take a look at the new thread on the currency board, where I posted the following (quoting another victim's post):

"<< I was personally ripped off by this dealer. I bought a note from her which she said was 'great' but she didn't know how to grade and was new to all of this. Also, that the note was from an estate.

She doesn't take returns. She's a crook and a liar. >>

I had the same experience with this "prince" of a lady (sic), and was bashed to beeJesus for bellyaching about it on the US coin forum. I still plan to seek legal redress, and this thread gives me plenty of ammunition!

Any further evidence of her deceptive sales practices and/or fraud would be most appreciated! "

Read the thread on the currency board. It describes how the seller Javajune buys damaged currency on Ebay under an other name, doctors it (which she admits in a response to a question form a prospective buyer) and resells with varoius gambits (in my auction, it was "an estate sell" by a little old lady who claimed "IM STILL PRETTY NEW TO THE GAME ". Yet she responds to a question from a prospective buyer by stating "I have been cleaning and repairing notes proffessionaly for over 10 years now". Doesn't sound like someone "new at the game" unless the "game" is fraudulent selling. I guess I'm safe in stating that the seller is a boldfaced liar, as I did in by negative feedback!

One of the new post suggests " it would be very interesting to (1) get a DA or FTC interested in investigating/prosecuting her; or (2) a collector to sue her." I'll take the challenge, and seek vindication by legal process.

Maybe now you good folks will lay off MBT and recognized that I called this right all along.

    MBT,

I think you missed the point on the thread from several months ago in which you became the flamee. No one disagreed that with you that the woman sold you a bum bill. Many disagreed with how you carried yourself here (the language, especially), and many also felt that buying expensive uncertified coins or currency from an unknown individual offering no returns (no exceptions) was a high-risk venture.

Good luck on your legal battle. I sure would like to see one more scammer removed from ebay. Unfortunately, your fight is mostly about principal (not money), and it might cost you quite a bit to make your point, unless you can get local authorities in her area involved.

Maybe BoyBlunder will understand why you refer to yourself in the third person and better understand MBT.

Yep, the seller's a scammer. And, you're still a buffoon.

    Russ, NCNE
  • Was this the one where you paid a seller with 11 feedbacks $950 in an "as is" "estate sell" on eBay for an ungraded scarce (possibly bleached or forged) note with folds visible in the poor quality scan without asking questions prior to auctions end, and then sent the note back without hearing from the seller?

    link to auction still works

From the auction - "MORE NOTES FROM AN ESTATE SELL. THESE WERE FOUND LAST WEEK IN AN UNOPENED BOX. THERE WERE OVER 30 NOTES TUCKED INSIDE A PAPER WALLET FROM GEO. D. BARNARD AND CO. (riigghhhht) ANYWAY, MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT MY OTHER NOTES. IM STILL PRETTY NEW TO THE GAME SO LOOK CLOSELY. ALL SOLD AS IS. THIS NOTE IS CRISP (actual meaning?) AND LOOKS JUST GREAT! NICE COLORS, HARD TO BELIEVE IT IS THIS OLD! $4.00 SHIPPING FOR PRIORITY MAIL. GOOD LUCK."

    Billy

PS - of course the seller is no good - but the fact remains you did this to yourself, and that why it really hurts. You can STILL learn from this and let it go.

Vindicated? No one ever said she was a good seller. In fact, she sells overdescribed junk, it would appear. I don't think anyone was denying that.

What we were saying is that you bought a note with obvious wear and creases, described as "crisp" (which does NOT necessarily mean uncirculated) and put all the blame on the seller (using quite a bit of inflammatory language not only to that seller but to others who also pointed the above out to you) when anyone who knew what they were doing buying RAW and EXPENSIVE items on eBay would have realized these things.

And anyone who does NOT recognize that has no business buying expensive raw items on eBay. Yes, the seller sucks and that was never at issue. How you handled it was at issue and how you exposed your own ignorance in buying obviously overdescribed raw, valuable items on eBay from an unknown seller.

Agreed. Many buyers ( and sellers) do it to themselves and then expect sympathy.

  • I won't get involed in the discussion.
But as I see it if a seller is offering a $100 bill for less than face value.
How come the secret service isn't involved?

At least one thing Big Laywer proposed was laughable under Texas law, leading me to request the court date and location so I could be there for free entertainment.

You said a long time ago you were going to sue. Do it already. People whose m.o. is to makes threats are a joke. File your suit like you said you would, and then come back and tell us how you were right. The fact that some ebay scam artist suckered another wienie doesn't make you any more right than you were before.
