Has the look of a coin that has been cleaned and now it has retoned - whether naturally over time, or with a little help is difficult to tell. That said it is virtually imposible to determine AT/NT from an image so the above s an educated guess based on the "look" of the image on the screen.

I would stay away from the coin due to the damage on the reverse at 12 o'clock. If you look on the obverse, the damage extends to the bottom near the date at 6 o'clock.

We had enough reservations about the coin not to bid on it last night and it sold for around $45 which isn't a fortune but none the less glad we didn't. The seller had 100% feedback but some of his other coins were without a doubt altered in some way so that coin had us a littled puzzled ....hmmmm was it or wasn't it.... we went back and forth over it ...but since we were not 100%, we passed on it. Guess we made the right choice. Oh well, another day... another coin, lol. Thanks for all your input is is always helpful and appreciated. snapmohr
Just for the record I thought it was ok and my boyfreind thought altered ...I guess he gets to wear the pants in the family for the next week! LOL He's the man
I agree with cleaned and retoned. The toning may be "NT" as we know it, or "market acceptable" -- but the cleaning is the problem more than the toning.
Something about the toning looks funky . . . probably cleaned and retoned. If you own it, keep it as a learning tool. If you are considering buying it, you should pass on the offer.
