PCGS Date Set Registry for Lincoln cents

PCGS has launched David Halls suggestion for a date set registry. As I noticed #1 Close to Perfect is #1 as well as being PERFECT.My congratulations go out to him and it looks as though Gerry can only tie him.(Although Gerry is off the charts)
I wish to also congratulate Son of a -unk as the present #2 man

Way to go guys !!!!!

Congratulations as well to CTP. I glanced at the set quickly and noticed that CTP's set did have coins he could still upgrade. How is it then a perfect set at this time?

Now if PCGS could just put together a short set & a COMPLETE 1909-Date MS set (& proofs as well) - similar to the way NGC has for quite a while. image

BTW, congrats also to CTP & Paul. image

    I agree 100% with that.

Stewart, just for fun, why don't you put your finest coin for each date up there and let us all see them. What a nice treat that would be for all the Lincoln cent collectors. Steveimage
  • It's interesting to note that although it is a DATE set, PCGS still won't allow the 1922 No D Weak Reverse, 1922-D Weak D, 1936 DDO #2, 1936 DDO #3, the 1964 SMS (of course that would be in the proof variety set) or the 1998, 1999, or 2000 Wide AM's in the set. image

I can't speak first hand for the 1943 Coppers, 1944 Zincs, the 1958 DDO, or the 1992-D Close AM.

IMHO, it is silly to NOT allow ANY coin certified by PCGS of the date to be entered. image

My congrats too. That's a neat set.

I think this is the opening foray into complete 09-date sets we will be seeing in the near future (1-2 years out).
