Fuzz and others: Let's talk about 1970 topps super glossy football

Howdy! I'm in need of three 1970 topps super glossy football cards in psa 9 to finish
a complete set in psa 9/10 condition. The cards I need are Percival, Webster, and Cook. I'm willing to trade or buy to get this set done! I have a second set of glossies (The Good Old Days) which is #2 on the registry that can be cherry picked from if someone wants to trade to help fill in some gaps in a set they are working on. I'm also willing to trade my 9's for any 10's out there plus cash or multiple 9's for a 10. I will make a sweet deal for anyone out there who might be interested in trading. I mentioned Fuzz in my title because he's #3 on the registry and I know he's working on this set too. Maybe we can work out a deal Fuzz to finish and improve your set if you can help me out with mine, especially if you have any 10's or 9's that can help me out. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from some fellow collectors who collect this set and might be able to help me FINALLY complete this set ! Paul ratz@prtel.com

  • i love this set. i would like to make a run at it in 8+, but i haven't really started yet.

i really wanted that Nobis 9, too bad it closed for $127

glossycrazy, if you ever sell your extra Nobis 8, let me know. i'm working on a Registry set for her (she used to date Nobis in college)
  • I took a crack at that Nobis card too! I went to around $95 before bowing out. I'll keep
you in mind when I get rid of my Nobis in PSA 8- I hope to get a 9 to replace it sometime in
    the future! Paul
  • Hi- I posted again to keep on the first page of the registry! Does anyone have nice
copies of Cook, Percival, or Webster? I'm looking for centered copies with no problems
on the front or back to send in for grading. It seems that the already graded copies are
too hard to come by so why not take the risk and send in some! Let me know if you can help!
    Thanks! Paul

I love this set, too--it might be my favorite, in fact. The cards are a nice contrast to the drab regular Topps set from that year. The cards certainly aren't rare, but it is definitely a challenge to find cards that are well-centered and not chipped on the back.

One thing I always odd about this set was that they chose Mac Percival to represent the Bears. What happened to Sayers and Butkus?
