PCGS Label - Can This Be Fixed?

image

I feel this is very distracting and takes away from the value of the coin. Can it be fixed somhow? Will PCGS reholder it? Does PCGS have a Quality Process that should have prevented this? Thanks, Lee

I can't speak for PCGS's quality control, but what I can tell you is that they fixed a problem I had. I had a coin which had a piece of fuzz imbedded within the holder itself. Normally not too big a deal, but the fuzz was centered over the obverse of the coin. This was quite distracting. I showed them the coin at a major show and they agreed to reholder it free of charge.

In your case, they will probably make it right for you, but you probably will incur shipping charges. I would contact their customer service department and see what they will do for you.

    They'll definately fix it -

I've had a few issues through the years with typos and things like that and would recommend that you have them fixed at a show. if you send them in to be fixed it takes time, and you'll incur the shipping and insurance charge even if the PCGS fix itself is free.

How can the placement of a piece of paper in a holder affect the value of a coin? I think the priorities are a little mixed up here.

It doesn't affect the coin but does affect the presentation.

Everytime I looked at that coin it would tick me off. No impact on the value, but my being ticked off is worth -$23.75.

I've never seen that happen before. I believe there is a little sticky "dot" on the reverse of the label that you can't see due to the
hologram. Something must have happened to prevent the sticky area from holding on. They'll take care of it, just give customer
    service a call.

That coin is a PR70, but the holder gets a PO1 or maybe even a body bag.
