New Lincoln Date Set

Just got an email from BJ regarding the new date set for Lincolns cents. Looks kind of fun, but I'm going to finish 09-58 first. I just haven't caught the "memorial bug".

I already registered a date set, a San Francisco date set that is!

I love Roger's varieties set too!

So why is 2004 required for this set :>

I don't think you could get all "circulation" strikes for all these years can you?

What year would you not be able to get a circ strike for?

  • I think the question was about circulation strikes from the San Fran mint. Obviously, one would not be able to complete a date set using just San Fran minted Lincoln cents.

I'm sure (BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT) that Jaime already knows that there are NO S-mint circ. strike Lincolns for 1922, 1932-1934, 1956-1967, & 1975-2004. image

Yeah, just thought it would be fun to register my S's since most people would register their P's. I think Roger's varieties set is neat too. I guess I'll be able to add my 09-s/s to my date set. The Basic 09-58 Lincoln set won't let me use the 09-s/s.

This looks like a fun set. I just registered my modest holdings, and am currently #7 out of 15. Like many, Lincolns were my first set, begun at the ripe old age of 6. I still love 'em, but gave up hope of completing a full set in MS RD grades long ago. I have no MS certified Lincolns after 1970; maybe now I'll feel the need to acquire them.

It's interesting to see that a lot of the 1909-1958 collectors have a few 1959-date coins, but usually doubled dies! It seems pretty popular to collect the doubled dies even if one doesn't collect the regular Memorials. I'm surprised at a bunch who have a 70-s small date too. I'm still looking for a really nice one of that!
