How come this coin isn't in their pop report?

Not only are there no MS02 coins, there aren't any Poor to AG listed either.

To answer the question you're probably thinking - why would anyone slab this coin?
I bet they thought it was a 66-P which is worth something, but if you recall a few earlier threads of mine, the 66-S frequently has a very weak MM and is often misattrributed as a 66-P.

    hey Barry

coincidentally, i spoke with Brian Silliman at NGC/NCS yesterday about a medal. he happened to remark that he can't be certain about some of the pop's and that NGC is in the process of close to correcting the report of some known errors. whether that's just concerning medals or the report as a whole i didn't ask. i assume they'll do a complete assessment and clean the whole thing up.

It's always been a struggle getting the Majors to recognize these lowly, problem free coins within their pops.

I've abandoned all hope, with PCGS, as the fight led nowhwere.

I'm grateful for this Thread though as that dime is now on my WatchList... image
