Ed Wade Never Learns

What is Wade doing? Why would you hire Manual over Jim Leylend?

Manual is nothing but a 'yes' man.... Thome's boy...

The Phils better get some needed fire power in the rotation and eliminate some of the pathetic
strikeouts in the line-up of some of the overpaid bums they got. I don't understand how ownership
has missed the signs here. They have lost much of the young generation (18-25 yr old range).
Baseball used to be the top sport in this town. Through the years, they've helped turn it into a football
town with their incompetence.

I eventually see dwindling attendance.

MAN! I hate Wade and Montgomery too. I wish they would frickin sell!

I wanted to see Grady Little get the job but I knew when Wade brought in Fregosi for an interview, a guy he wouldn't hire in a million years, it was obvious that it was all just a charade. That Manuel all along was going to get the job.

Always ticked me off all this sympathy crap about the Red Sox and their Bambino curses. With the Phillies, our curses have curses. Other than the exception of a championship in 1980, the Phillies losing history was always worse than the Red Sox. Now it is much worse. Hopefully Manuel can change that. Here's hoping for the best.

We need to bring back freaking Kruk and Lenny. What is Mello Carmello doing these days?

I think Von Hayes would hit .350 if he got sandwiched between Thome and Burrell!

and what every happened to John Denny after that one great year?

As long as Jose Mesa and Jerk Wendell aren't on the 40 man come April Ill be happy!

Fergosi, Francona, Bowa, Manual...its still reeks of Wade any way you slice it.

I completely agree with what is being said here about Ed Wade. I don't know anyone who does like him. But I thought he made the necessary moves to have a good shot at winning it in 2004. In all fairness, if Billy Wagner doesn't get hurt, it's a different season.

That's what I was saying in my previous post here. Year after stinkin year it's always something that goes wrong. But hope springs eternal in baseball so come April, I'll be a glutten for punishment again and be rooting my heart out for them.

I do not think that there is a GM in any sport that is still with the same team after 7 years who has not made the playoffs at least ONE time.

I read that Houston knew about his arm troubles. He has an incredible fastball but I'm hearing this
guy can't last a season. Phillies really had no choice but to take on his contract for the upcoming year
and hope for the best. I'm not optomistic. I've become very disgruntled with the current makeup of
the team and its ownership/management. Things will have to get worse to change I guess or I can
    hope for the best.

1420 is dead on with his comments on seven years and no playoffs for the same gm. My feelings on
Wade will not change. Even if the Phillies do well I consider Wade a dope. I have no respect for his
    abililities.

GO PHILS! I'm still a fightin phan despite the mess. Maybe some players will start playing to their potential!
Where have I heard that before? LOL! I'm starting to sound like Ed Wade. Maybe I'm an idiot too!
